Overview
Dysphagia Cup with Nose Cut-Out
The Rije Dysphagia Cup has been designed to meet the needs of people who have difficulty in completing a successful swallow. A successful swallow is one that has diverted food or liquid into the food tube (oesophagus) and not into the lungs. The adaptive drinking cup provides large ergonomic handles for a more secure grip for those with tremors, grasping disabilities, and arthritis.
Difficulty Swallowing Liquids
The nose cut-out on this cup assists the user to sip their beverage without tilting their head back. This design helps prevent aspiration (liquid entering the respiratory tubes) by keeping the respiratory tubes closed. The spill resistant dysphagia cup allows drinking from a straw or the open cup and can dispense liquids from 3 ml to 15 ml.
Ideal for Pediatric and Adult Use
Rije Dysphagia Cup is very well adapted to various challenges faced by individuals who suffer from swallowing disorder (dysphagia), motor disabilities, developmental disorders, and dementia. The patented mechanism of this cup dispenses small controlled swallows of thin or nectar thickened liquids one sip at a time. Ideal for pediatric and adult use, the cup allows adjusting a portion volume for safer and more comfortable swallowing.
